Indiana Jones - Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Preview
It’s been eighteen long years since we have seen Indy on the big screen, and the wait is finally over, well it will be shortly.
When we last saw him he was riding off into the sunset with his father and friends, we thought it was goodbye, but now, we get more. Thank you Mr. Spielberg, thank you.
Marion Ravenwood has reunited with Dr. Jones and their son “Mutt”, played by Shia Lebeouf, is along for the adventure this time around. It looks to be like another globe-spanning adventure with the all of the elements that we love about the series: supernatural artifacts in danger of falling into the wrong hands, with a little romance, action, and a healthy dose of humor thrown in as well.
There are a few things that I would like to have seen that unfortunately will not be in the movie. Sean Connery is naturally the big one I guess he is enjoying retirement too much. The other would be John Rhys-Davies as Sallah, but it appears that his role as Indy’s sidekick has been relegated to Ray Winstone’s character, whose name I am not yet aware of. But that is it; from what I have seen thus far everything looks to be in order. My only fear from viewing the trailer so many times is that the use of computer effects will outweigh the practical effects and stunts that are a hallmark of the original trilogy.
I know, based on previous experience that this is will be one of the biggest movies this summer, if not the biggest. Steven Spielberg has never let me down, I even loved The Terminal, I have no doubt that this film will deliver on every level, and my expectations couldn’t be higher. See you there! Fedora and whip optional.
